Second Annual Modern Languages Open House

Around 150 language students from three local high schools took part in the Department of Modern Languages 2nd Annual Open House on the UT Arlington campus on Friday January 27. The event promoted MODL language and localization degree programs by engaging guests in a variety of cultural lessons and activities. Organized by MODL’s Recruitment Task Force, the Open House featured short interactive sessions led by representatives of the Arabic, ASL, Chinese, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Spanish language programs, as well as a presentation over localization and translation, led by Dr. Pete Smith and Blake Carpenter. Guests traveled from presentation to presentation, guided by task force members and student volunteers. Participants had fun and received valuable information about MODL programs!
